There is a simple answer to the question “can I make money from…?”
But before I answer that question it’s important to know why I’m asked it so often.
I started looking at ways to make some additional money on the internet about 3 years ago. I dabbled at a few things but never really focused on anything (I was doing it in my “spare” time while running a full time offline business).
I learnt some basic HTML and could create a website but my graphic skills (or more like my creativity) weren’t up to the job. I looked at the template sites but most of them looked worse than those I was creating.
And then I found WordPress.
Many people will immediately think I’m now talking about blogging and switch off BUT if you do you’ll miss one of the most important lessons I ever learnt online.
You can use the blogging platform to create a site as good as any “traditional” website unless you really want one of those flash intros that take minutes to load. You know the ones you never bother waiting for!!
It really didn’t take long to learn how to use WordPress – there’s no coding required unless you really want to go to town and you can have a great looking site up and running in minutes. Just select a theme you like the look of, click a button and there you are – done. No need to worry about creating navigation and menus, it all happens automatically as you add pages.
I became known as something of a WordPress expert and a good online pal asked me to join him with a project he was working on to teach people how to get an online business up and running in record time.
Yes, he wanted to use WordPress as the basis for the guidance because he too saw the ease of the system for anyone starting out. What is important is matching your desired income levels with a niche or niches that have the capacity of providing what you want.
